IRIS – Ithaca Renting Internet Service

High-speed, hard-wired Ethernet service for Ithaca Renting tenants. Simple setup, no modem needed, and local tech support.

  • Tenants must provide their own equipment. Service is hard-wired—you need your own router and/or Ethernet cable. The newest WiFi Standard is Wi-Fi 7, but a Wi-Fi 6 router is still widely used for speed and efficiency. 

  • Service is active and ready to go when you arrive! Payment is due by the 1st day of classes to remain active, but can be re-activated later if you miss the payment deadline. 
  • Group apartments should plan to submit their payments together. 

  • Plug the router into the active Ethernet wall port and power it on; connect devices via Wi-Fi using the router password or by hard-wiring directly with an ethernet cable. .

  • Subscriber is responsible for security measures (firewalls, antivirus, etc.).

  • Prohibited: copyright infringement or other illegal activities.

  • Service speed may vary; Wi-Fi speeds are affected by interference and router quality. An old slow router will SLOW DOWN YOUR INTERNET SPEED. 

  • Service continues through sublets; no refunds for prepaid fees.

  • Violation of terms may result in termination of service.
